Nike Squash-Type: A prototype-inspired tennis shoe

The Oregon-based shoe giant resurrected its 1980 court sports shoe’s blueprint and tossed it to a modern-day-fitting Nike Squash-Type. Sneaker fans obsessed with retro Nike shoes might get swooned by this uniquely packaged tennis-inspired kick. You can match it with several outfits as its colorway gets updated over time.

Nike Squash-Type’s N345 siblings

Nike Squash-Type belongs to the N345 family, which are resurrected designs from the Swoosh-brand’s rich archive of athletic shoe prototypes. Below are the other mock-up-oriented kicks.

Nike Air Force 1 Type. Like the Squash-Type, this deconstructed-styled AF1 is a head-turner but way pricier. It’s loaded with interesting details like a transparent side window, lace-up closure, and adjustable heel strap.

Nike Drop Type LX. Much like the Squash-Type, this shoe is inspired by vintage tennis shoes. It bears an experimental look to a Nike tennis classic with a noticeable thick tongue and visible foam. It’s one of the cheapest from the N345 label with a price that’s a lot lesser than the Nike Squash-Type.

Nike React-Type GTX. If the Squash-Type is a multipurpose sneaker option, the React-Type comes as a worthy all-weather Nike pickup. Its GORE-TEX feature that keeps your feet dry makes it more costly than the court-inspired sneaker.
